David Van Middendorp

David Van Middendorp served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1968. He served as a radarman on the USS Enterprise CVA(N)65 and at the 620th Tactical Control Squadron in Monkey Mountain, Vietnam. He retired from the US Coast Guard in 1990 as a Chief Boatswains Mate. He then went on to work at the VA Regional Office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he was the Privacy Officer and Appeals Coordinator. Following his retirement from the VA, he was a TSA certified courier until April, 2023. He delivered transplant organs, critical devices for aircraft, and medical supplies to nursing homes, assisted care facilities, and rehab facilities throughout South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Nebraska.
He is now fully retired and only working on a cemetery database for Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley, Iowa, building woodworking machines, and continuing work on the family tree.
